Spring decorates Istanbul

Upon arrival of spring, colors in Istanbul became more vibrant and contrasting. While tulips and violets blossom in city parks and picnic areas, famous Judas trees ornament Bosphorus alongside.

As Tulips and Judas Trees are symbols of Turkey’s giant city of Istanbul since Ottoman period, metropolis’ Chief of Parks Department says that they tried to keep this image alive by planting these flowers in almost all parks and picnic areas.

İstanbulites also seem satisfied with the beautiful scenery. Ahmet Çetinkaya says that he loved to spend time in parks of Istanbul in Spring because colorful flowers made him feel happy and kept his spirit up.
